3 Ideas for Tzatziki Sauce

Are you a passionate lover of Greek cuisine?

Why go all the way to Greece when you can have the coveted tzatziki sauce right on your table, as quick as you can say “Lăptărie”! And because we couldn’t decide on the most delicious recipe, we’ll let you test these three ways of preparation.

  1. Tzatziki with 10% Yogurt and Red Beetroot

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar (190g) 10% Yogurt from Lăptăria cu Caimac
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped dill
  • 2 cloves of crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ripe red beetroot (130g)
  • salt & pepper

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, dill, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  2. Grate the cooked beetroot and mix it into the yogurt bowl.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve with tortilla chips or warm flatbreads.

 

  1. Tzatziki with Molcuț Yogurt and Mint

Ingredients:

  • ½ English cucumber
  • 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 200g Molcuț Yogurt from Lăptăria cu Caimac
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped mint
  • salt & pepper

Preparation:

  1. Peel and halve the cucumber. Use a spoon to remove the soft center with seeds. Grate the cucumber using a coarse grater, sprinkle salt over it, and set it aside in a bowl. Then squeeze out the excess water.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and olive oil. Add lemon juice, chopped mint, and a little pepper. Mix well.
  3. Serve with falafel.

 

Tzatziki with Kefir, Feta, and Chili

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium cucumbers
  • 300g Kefir from Lăptăria cu Caimac ● 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dill
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 60g feta cheese
  • salt & pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon chili flakes

Preparation:

  1. Strain 1 jar of Kefir through cheesecloth.
  2. Peel the cucumbers and grate them using a coarse grater. Sprinkle with a little salt and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze the grated cucumbers well to remove excess water.
  3. In a bowl, mix the strained kefir with olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. Add the grated and squeezed cucumber, crumbled feta, chopped dill, and chili flakes. Mix to incorporate. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve with roasted potatoes.
